Q Workplace Solutions is a national firm of over 20 legally qualified investigators called on by leading law firms and public and private organisations (including ASX-listed companies) when accusations of workplace misconduct arise. We are trusted to conduct independent, confidential and trauma-informed investigations to make legally defensible findings of fact.

While no two investigations are the same, and our work never fails to be intellectually challenging, it is also fascinating and, above all, worthwhile. 

Our ideal candidate 

If we have your attention, our ideal candidate will also have: 

• legal experience (minimum 5+ years) with a strong background in investigations, commercial litigation, employment law, or regulatory/compliance matters; 

• a track record of conducting and/or managing complex workplace investigations; 

• excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including empathetic listening and cultural competency and sensitivity; 

• an ability to confidently and flexibly manage clients, stakeholders and witnesses; 

• meticulous evidence-gathering and high-level critical thinking skills to collate and synthesise intricate information; 

• expertise in writing thoroughly considered, professionally structured and legally defensible reports;  

• strong professional judgment and the ability to work independently on sensitive matters, and 

• an appetite for ongoing learning and development in the investigations space, including a desire to build your own brand as a trusted external consultant. 

In this role, you will: 

• manage complex workplace investigations from inception to conclusion 

• develop investigation strategies and methodologies tailored to specific legal contexts 

• conduct sophisticated witness interviews, often involving complex and sensitive allegations 

• analyse evidence and draft comprehensive investigation reports with legally sound findings 

• manage client relationships throughout the investigation process 

• contribute to the firm's thought leadership and professional development initiatives 

• You will be highly organised and detail-oriented, able to work autonomously, handle pressure to meet deadlines and possess high-level emotional intelligence. 

QWS also operates a workplace investigations training business, which will allow you to get exposure to creating training materials and coordinating training sessions if you have an interest in this area. 

Your future team 

You'll join our Brisbane or Sydney Practice, working with a team of accomplished legally qualified workplace investigators. You'll be well remunerated for your experience and enjoy flexible working arrangements, with options to work from our centrally located Brisbane office in Woolloongabba or remotely. 

Your Practice Leader, an experienced investigator, will provide strategic guidance, while our collaborative team environment offers opportunities to work with other senior professionals on complex matters. Our commitment to professional development includes regular advanced training in skills development and opportunities to contribute to our investigations training business.
