Permanent Full-Time, Based in Waterloo,

Base salary starting from $130, 528 per annum + super

The New South Wales Nurses and Midwives’ Association is the registered union for nurses and midwives in New South Wales. We represent the industrial interests of members working across the public, private, aged care and primary healthcare sectors.

We are now seeking an Employee Engagement Partner to join our Employee Engagement team.

This is a broad generalist role that will suit someone who enjoys partnering with managers, improving people processes and helping deliver practical people outcomes in a complex and purpose-driven environment.

About the role:

The Employee Engagement Partner plays an important role in supporting people initiatives across the organisation. The role provides advice and guidance to managers, supports the delivery of people strategy, helps build manager capability and contributes to continuous improvement across employee engagement practices.

You will work across a broad range of people matters including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations support, policy updates, performance processes, workforce planning and general employee engagement activities.

Key responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Partner with managers on end-to-end recruitment activities, including position description updates and hiring support.
  • Facilitate onboarding, exit processes and exit interviews.
  • Support employee engagement and pulse survey initiatives.
  • Contribute to people initiatives that support organisational improvement and transformation.
  • Support performance management and salary review processes in line with enterprise agreement and policy requirements.
  • Provide administrative support and advice on employee relations matters.
  • Coordinate wellbeing, safety and injury management programs.
  • Update people policies in line with legislation and best practice.
  • Prepare workforce reports and insights, including vacancy trends, turnover and engagement data.
  • Provide general employee engagement administration across employee records, WHS, training and development and related people processes.


About you:

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience in a generalist HR or people partnering role.
  • Sound knowledge of employment-related legislation, including the Fair Work Act, WHS, industrial relations, enterprise agreements and privacy obligations.
  • Strong administrative capability and excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and judgement.
  • Confidence working with managers and stakeholders across a range of people matters.
  • The ability to balance operational priorities with longer-term improvement work.

Essential requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Psychology or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Desirable:

  • Project management experience.
  • OD experience/exposure would be beneficial.
